One of the nicest MBTI types out there will be the ISFJ which stands for Introversion Sensing, Feeling and Judging. They are usually lived by many because of their warm and welcoming nature. It is without question they are one of the most liked personality types out there. But does this apply to the ISFJ 3w1? Let’s find out their differences.

How Is The ISFJ 2w1 Different From The Other ISFJs?

In simple words, the ISFJ 2w1 is more ethical and more assertive. They care about being the perfect friend. You might wonder how this doesn’t apply to the ISFJ. But the ISFJ just generally cares about being a considerate human. They are sweet and lovable to just about anyone. And they are nurturers.

The ISFJ loves caring for others, it gives them a sense of purpose and as you can tell, they are very traditional. They abide by rules and cultures. This applies to the 3w2 too as they are also loyal and generous.

But the differences come with the direction of their focus. The 2w1 cares about developing friendships. They can also step away from a norm or practice if they feel that’s what is right. It can be pretty difficult for them. Their assertive nature is also a difference. They are more extroverted than the typical ISFJ. The ISFJ is more traditional but the 3w2 makes them more ethical.

Strengths of The ISFJ 2w1

1. They Are More Ethical

This follows the highlights above. The 3w2 makes the ISFJ more ethical as they constantly strive to doing the right thing and although this might sound more spiritual, it isn’t always the case. They are also very helpful and generous to those around them. But sadly there generosity can easily be taken advantage of.

2. They Are  Nurturers

This also applies to the typical ISFJ as it applies here. The 2w1 is very caring to those around them and goes out of their way to provide them with what they need. Another reason why they are considered sweethearts. They also tend to thrive in occupations that require nurturing because of their patience with it all. But this also has its disadvantages.

3. They Love Helping Others

The ISFJ 2w1 loves helping others as much as they can. They love guiding people and being there for them. This is why they tend to make good teachers because they are easy to talk to and you just feel safe meeting them for guidance and advice.

4. They Are Fiercely Loyal

To the ISFJ 2w1, loyalty is very important if you need people around you or if you wish to have your way. It can be either of this. So they try their best to remain loyal to those around them. They fear abandonment and this could be a defensive response. It isn’t hard to be friends with them either so it works more often than not.

Weaknesses of The ISFJ 2w1

1. They End Up Being People Pleasers

As mentioned above, they fear abandonment and can be very good natured. All those sound sad or nice but this means people can take advantage of them very easily. They always want to make those around them happy and that just wears them out eventually.

2. But Can Also Be Manipulative

This can go either way for the ISFJ 2w1. They can either be pushovers or manipulative but it stems from the same trigger. Fear of abandonment. This makes them desperate and will do anything to avoid that from happening. Even if it means being manipulative which is never good.

3. Constantly Seeking External Validation

The ISFJ 2w1 will constantly seek external validation because they feed off that. If people like you, they can’t leave you, right? They always want to be appreciated and their efforts noticed. Don’t get me wrong, everyone loves this but making it the base of your existence can be very toxic. When people do not appreciate their efforts, they become sad, overcome by feelings of worthlessness and tend to lose their self confidence.

4. They Become Overly Self-Critical

This comes as no surprise if you’ve read everything above. They struggle to meet the high standards they place on themselves and falling short makes them withdrawn and even depressed. Due to their wing, they become perfectionists with numerous goals to achieve. But when they don’t, it affects them terribly.

Work For The ISFJ 2w1

  • Constantly seeking external validation makes you lose sight of your own identity. Understand that self esteem comes from within.
  • You can’t love and care for someone into staying in your life forever. If they don’t feel the same way, they are bound to leave.
  • Setting healthy boundaries is one way to ensure others respect you without taking advantage of you.
  • We all love external validation but it shouldn’t be what you hold most over yourself.
  • Setting high standards for yourself is good but learning from your mistakes instead of spiraling  is even better.
